 Employers are invited to participate for an hour on Thursday, March 18th during a ½ day morning workshop for individuals looking for work.  Usually between 20 and 30 individuals attend this workshop.  It helps individuals identify their assets, current job opportunities, and community and government resources that can assist them in their next steps.

The minimum wage in New Brunswick will increase to meet the Atlantic average by Sept. 1, 2011:

The minimum wage will increase in four steps:

  • April 1, 2010: an increase of 25 cents to $8.50 per hour;
  • Sept. 1, 2010, an increase of 50 cents to $9 per hour;
  • April 1, 2011: an increase of 50 cents to $9.50 per hour; and
  • Sept. 1, 2011: an increase of 50 cents to $10 per hour.
 The Workforce Expansion Initiative is a community-focused project committed to "advancing intregrated workforce solutions".
