Immigrating to Saint John

As an international seaport, Saint John welcomes people from around the world to live in a cooperative, caring social network which provides the foundation for realizing a better way of life.

Attracting and retaining new people, new ideas and new investment is the foundation for growth. Retention of current residents and the attraction of former residents and new immigrants is integral to the development and growth of our labour force and will drive the community to continue to evolve and grow, economically, socially and culturally.

Enterprise Saint John has taken an active role in attracting new immigrants to Saint John by:

  • Supporting the implementation of our region’s immigration strategy;
  • Providing community orientation sessions, and market research for prospective immigrants under New Brunswick’s Provincial Nominee Program; and
  • Hosting and participating in international immigration, trade and investment delegations.

Saint John and the other New Brunswick urban centres, Moncton and Fredericton are collaborating on a Provincial Immigration Traction Pilot Project for community-based settlement, integration supports and services.
