Arts Entrepreneurship in Saint John
Saint John has a strong arts entrepreneurship culture, with an ever-growing number of studios, commercial galleries, musical performers, performance spaces and dance companies.
Artist-Entrepreneur Spotlight: Alison Gayton
Being an artist and an entrepreneur in Saint John is like the weather: impossible to predict and difficult to prepare for, but it's happening around the place that I call home. I love this city and I love sharing clay with people, so I try my best to make it happen, rain, sleet, fog galore or shine.
Alison Gayton is an artist-entrepreneur who’s making it all happen. Owner of I Love Saint John Pottery, Alison works and teaches out of her own pottery studio, manages ESL Art Supplies on Union Street, collaborates frequently with the Saint John Arts Centre, and is the President of Third Space, a local artist-run gallery. Alison is both a passionate leader in the Saint John arts and culture scene and an up-and-coming entrepreneur – a dynamic combination for a young artist! You can also find some of Alison’s work at the Feel Good Store, 89 Germain Street, or visit her Facebook group page.
